PHAME is thrilled to announce that RaChelle Schmidt has accepted the position of Director of Performance and Partnerships. Her first day was Thursday, March 9.

A lifelong Portlander, RaChelle has deep roots in the local theatre community as an arts administrator, actor, playwright, director, and teacher. She most recently served as Associate Producer at Portland Center Stage, where she helped found the theatre’s IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) team, which instituted a company-wide commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all equity-seeking communities. In addition to her experience in the arts, RaChelle has worked in Special Education and as a Personal Support Worker, and holds a deep commitment to creating access and equity for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

She writes, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to unite my love of the arts with my passion for increasing the opportunities, access, and representation that allows all emerging artists to shine.”
