Introducing the Rock Opera Project

This summer, PHAME is beginning an 18-month partnership with the Portland Opera, and we're calling it the Rock Opera Project. The project is part education, and part performance. For the next few school terms at PHAME, we’ll hold many classes where students can learn how to create a rock opera, including designing costumes, building sets, and writing the story and the songs.  In these classes we’ll not only be learning about rock operas, but will also be creating our own opera based on fairy tales.

PHAME Returns for Collaboration with Portland's Pink Martini

After a blockbuster spring of guest appearances and performances - including a standing-ovation-evoking appearance at the April 15th TEDxPortland event at Portland's Keller Auditorium - PHAME is thrilled to announce that it's returning for another collaboration with Portland's beloved mini-orchestra, Pink Martini, coming up July 1st at McMenamins Edgefield.

PHAME Announces Summer 2017 Production

PHAME is pleased to announce our summer 2017 collaborative project with director and playwright, Matthew B Zrebski.  PHAME students and staff will be collaborating with Zrebski to create a devised theatrical work about relationships, life moments, connections and being human, no matter what our differences.  The work is titled In a Single Breath and will premiere late August 2017 at Artists Repertory Theatre.
